    TACOS

    Hi Ladies

I am thinking of doing a last minute cake for a Taco Party Friday night.

This is what I would like to do (pix below), although I am sooo not getting the taco shell part...

Any ideas? I have emailed a few ladies who have made them, but have not heard back. And of course I am tight on time.. So if I can figure it out, I would love to make this work...

    Thanks in advance!

    Jen

Individual 'taco' cakes. White chocolate coloured with yellow and chocolate wafer crumbs for shells, chocolate cake slice inside topped with chocolate icing, coloured coconut and cut up ju-jubes. Time consuming to make however they were a huge hit....and quite tasty too!
Keywords: taco mexican

The shells are made of white candy melts with some yellow ones thrown in until you get the right colour, 5 or 6 finely crushed chocolate wafer cookies. Draw an oval about 2" larger than your cakes and place wax paper over the oval, pour some melted chocolate into the middle, spread it around to cover the oval, place a slice of cake in the centre and smooth the 'shell' up each side. Place in the fridge to harden then peel of the wax paper. Presto!

The picture didn't come through :-(

I have an idea though... why not make the "shell" out of fondant?
